I run it and like it pretty well, however I have not tested the results via analysis which I intend to do soon.

You'll get opinions both ways on here about pros and cons...but I certainly DO NOT trust what they say about going 25,000 miles on one change. I may go a little longer than a normal change interval, but not by too much.

I run the HD Diesel and Marine. What they recommend for towing...cost a few $$$ more than standard, but if your going to spend the money may as well spend it in the right place!

I bought the maximum performance 0w20 amsoil. I will do an analysis around 14000 miles or so. If oil is still good i will do another sample at 20000, shooting for 25000, tired of oil changes! I am anxious to see if i get better fuel econemy like they claim.

I'm running Asmoil 15w40 with a oil by-pass and will be switching to the 5w40 the next change you may get by with 20-25k on a gas rig but no way would i go 20k on a 6.0 because of the shear of the oil by the injectors, and i think it is one of the best Syn oil going.

I used to be a big Amsoil fan and ran it in my 2002 7.3 for almost 100k. At that point, my iron went to crap based on my Blackstone samples. I dumped the Amsoil at 2000 miles and sent a sample with the same results. Refilled with the Amsoil 3000 5-15 and went another 3000 miles with a sample. Same iron problem. I dumped the Amsoil entirely and went with Delo 400 15-40 and my iron problem went away. I never had another oil sample problem after changing to Delo and sold the truck with 182k. If you really want to know about oil, go on www.bobistheoilguy.com and ask away. You'll find a bunch of folks that have had the same problem with Amsoil synthetic after long use vs a good dino oil like Delo. It made a believer out of me-

Well been running the amsoil for about a week now and the only thing different i noticed is my fuel mileage. Before the computer stayed on 13.8 and now it reads 15.8. On cruise at about 55 mph it will climb to about 18 mpg, don't know if its the warmer weather or the synthetic, but i'll take it !

Don't trust the meter...do a hand calc. I've rum Amsoil for 148k and Blackstone lab tests. No problems with iron like Pappy but glad he did share. I will be very careful to study the results a bit closer.

Thanks Pappy and please don't get your hopes up too high MPG gains are a mind game and if Amsoil or any synthetic had the holy grail of mpgs the members here would be on cloud nine ha....:jester:

Well here's an update. Did my first oil analysis with Blackstone Lab and the oil was good at 16,800. Did my next sample at 18500 miles and the report showed normal wear levels. They said its was a good report and to check back at 21,000 miles. I don't think i will do any more oil test and will change every 20,000 miles or so. I was suprised to get good results on that many miles being a skeptical as i was.

I recently purchased my 08 F250 HD Diesel and have no idea when the last oil change was so I feel inclined to make that leap. I am an avid Amsoil user for my Nissan 350Z but I use the race formula.

I dont know what is best to purchase for my truck. I am not pulling at this time nor will I be for at least the next year or so. What is a good grade to get. I live in Hawaii and drive a lot of moderate hills.

I also am unsure of where to send my oil to get an analysis or how to package it. Can anyone give me some pointers?

Amsoil

See my sig for truck info.
I changed to Amsoil series 3000 5w-30 at 120,000 miles. Dual bypass filter system. Oil test every 12,500 with a new filter. New bypass filter every 25,000. Fresh oil every 50,000 even though my oil analysis show the oil is still good. No problems with Iron as has been mentioned.
As with everything ymmv but I have done nothing but routine parts replacement. The motor has not been touched and seems to be as strong as ever. Drove it to California and back last fall.
I use Amsoil fuel treatment in every tank also.
I am a fan.

Good Luck
