The 6.0L should run better then a 7.3L in stock trim. If the engine is running like a dog, you should have it checked out before you start throwing mods at it. If is has a problem, chances are the mod will just make the problem worse.

I'm thinking beleive and deerezilla have 6.0's that aren't running right. I have a '97 7.3 with 80hp chip and my stock '05 6.0 will blow its doors off when you hook a trailer to it. My 7.3 might out-accelerate the 6.0 but as soon as you hit a hill it's so long to the 7.3

the 6.0 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/vomit.gif is fast but make it work and it's a DOG can't pull nothing compared to a 7.3

Stock for stock, I GUARANTEE my 6.0, or any other one that is running 100%, will hands down out pull a 7.3, and I have owned a few 7.3's. I love the 7.3 too, but no way will it outperform a 6.0, in stock form.

Owned 7.3 and 6.0. The 7.3 will out torque the 6.0 until the 6.0 hits about 2k then watch out, cause all you're gonna see of the 6.0 is taillights. The 6sp. auto tranny provides extra umph when towing as well, as the engine can stay in powerband better. 6.0 and torqueshift is a good combo. We are talking stock to stock because if you include crazy mods, then yes at this point in time the 7.3 have more max. power mods available.

The 6.0, IMHO. doesn't have the "lifting power" of a 7.3..... this is that deep down low rpm torque..... But, the 7.3 doesn't have the top end power of the 6.0.

What I have seen on these forums... People shifting or driving in a manner that keeps the 6.0 from getting on to the torque curve. These are high revving diesels.... I don't care what works for a DDEC or a Big Cam... these engines like rpm.

The 6.0 works very well if we give the motor what it wants rather than trying to make the motor accept what we give...

My 6.0 would pull circles around my modded 7.3 and probably yours too! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif

I just bought a 6.0 F350 DRW with a torqueshift. I had a 2001 7.3L w/6 speed. I ony have 500 miles on the new rig but I can already tell it will run neck and neck with my '01 which I typically ran with an Edge EVO in the 80hp setting. Once the 6.0 get broken in, I think it wil only get better.

I have a '97 7.3

the 97 is'nt a fair compairison to a 6.0. the 2003 7.3 would be more fair. now with that being said the 6.0 is a screamer compaired to the 7.3. my 6.0 was the strongest truck I've ever owned. my 7.3 just happens to be alot more fun /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif I'm goin back down to the dungeon now!

Personally I love my 7.3L, but those 6.0's have some serious potential.

My buddy just bought a bone stock 04' 6.0 and we raced three nights ago, my 7.3 with the mods listed in my sig beat him but not by much. It's pretty safe to say any type of chip in his truck would destroy my 7.3L
