I recently bought a diesel excursion only to find out that the gas gauge is extremely inaccurate, (I ran out of gas with 1/2 a tank showing, 2 miles away from dealer where I bought it).
Ford's scan tool, as well as the overhead computer, shows the accurate fuel levels, but the gauge seems to be exactly 1/2 a tank off, (Scan tool showed 51%, gauge reads full).
So, it looks like I need to pull the instrument panel and look for a faulty ground, or replace the whole thing. Does anyone have access to a wiring diagram that I can download, or that can be e-mailed to me?
