Due to issues with my 04/03 6.0 I have backed up and punted! As such I have pulled my BrakeSmart controller and installed it in my new work truck, 1997 XL F-250 7.3 PSD. Obviously the direct plug feature was nice on the 2004. Can anybody provide direction on wiring the 1997?

There is a 4 -pin connector at the back of the truck. Is there a plug anywhere under the dash? Or... do I need to pickup power and wire the controller up the old fashioned way and run wires to the rear. I am assuming this is what must be done to wire the electric brakes. Do I then just pick off the 4-pin and tie it all into a 6-pin?

Thanks in advance!

I've got what BrakeSmart has. Steve was most helpful, however he couldn't say if I had the plug in or not. He said I may have to cut my adapter and direct wire it. I understand that there are 2 seperate wiring connectors on the 1997. So I am making a little headway.

You are sooo correct. Man do I feel like an idiot. In any event it is there and it works. I guess there is an adapter to put the 4-pin and 3-pin together. Thanks!
