I want to wire some lights up on my toolbox and am wondering where to get power from. All i need is power and the lights will run through a switch. Any suggestions? Thanks

Do you mean like work lights? (Spots?) Or running lights? I would pull power straight from the battery thru a relay for work lights, for some running lights I would just tap into the tail light wire.
If you meant lights inside the lid, to see while it's open, probably wire it to a "keyed on" source, so you dont leave them on and run the batteries down.

IS your tool box well grounded? Or held on with "Sticky Tape" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/phoney.gif
If the lights "Ground" where they mount, then it may not be providing a ground for you to the chassis. I would run a good ground from the box to the bed. Heavier gauge wire, with eyes on each end.

No problem, /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif I knew B E E school from the USMC way back in '82 would pay off some day! (Basic Electricity and Electronics school) Before AFUNP and AVA, then AFTA,,,, in Millington, TN. for 15 months!
