Need a circuit diagram for a 99.5 4R100 trans. The MLPS has 12 contacts and 11 wires hooked to it. I can turn the key on and jump the starter relay and it runs, temporarily run a fused B+ thru a momentary push button to the starter relay. Any suggestions on why the key won't start it. Could the MLPS have gone bad? Hate to buy one and it's not the problem, there expensive, Dealer $84, Auto store is $139.

Are you talking about the DTRS? The black device on the side of the transmission - digital transmission range sensor?

Yeah thats the one RT, just used to calling it MLPS like the E4OD refers to.
Now if I just knew what these mean.
FSD PW FD
STR to INT
STR Control
BACK UP = REVERSE
TR1 - 2 -3A- 4

Before I started tearing into wiring, I would make sure the DTRS is adjusted properly. If it is slightly out of adjustment, you will get the symptoms you are describing. It's not a hard thing to do.

Sometimes you can just wiggle the shifter up and down a bit while trying to crank. If you can get it to crank that way, all you need to do is adjust the DTRS. I have had a couple of no-cranks in park and all I had to do was push the shifter up a little more firmly into park.
