Anyone with a WW ever hear a howling noise coming from the intake area when you get into it? It started to make a really loud howl like noise after I installed the wicked wheel. Just wondering if anyone else does too.

The pitch of the whistle is definately higher than with the stock wheel, especially at higher boost levels. I don't think that I would call mine a howl, but the noise is much different.

After installing mine, the pitch dropped noticeably. It will start out as a whistle, then turn into something else as the rpms climb.

How much boost pressure did you lose? Is there anything else different, higher egt's, more smoke?

Not sure. I did the wheel and gauges at the same time so don't have numbers prior to wheel, and I am still trying to work some of the bugs out on the boost gauge. EGT's and smoke are normal.

my two turbo's that "howled" like a vacuum cleaner blew up. (and I'm not talking about the whistle sound, that was there too)

I am not sure what it is. I have heard that the boot that is part of the AFE stage 2 is a weak link, and I wonder if air is somehow getting through there and vibrating it and causing the noise.

Mine started "howling" just this past weekend. It's stock, should I start looking for a new one?

I figured out why I had low boost numbers and the loud howling noise. I guess it helps if you actually attach the boots to the Y. The driver side boot that goes to the intake manifold had the top clamp just hanging loose down around the bottom clamp. After I found that and tightened it up it worked like a charm, and now I can hit 30 psi, although it is not good for the stock charger, it is nice to know that is works.

Cool dude.
Yeah, one of these days, I should inspect my boots...
