I found a nice new 40/20/40 (swivel arm-rest seat-back) seat
that I want to install in place of my <yawn> cloth bench
seat in my 2000 XL SD extended cab.
Looks like the new seat has eight contact points to the floor
(4 under each main seat), while my stock bench has only four.
(1 at each bench corner)
Could this new seat be a bolt-in?
I think my question is:
Are the holes already there for the other 4 connection points?
I'm guessing the XL and XLT/Lariat cabs are all the same~~

Not sure how "cab-specific" Ford makes their seat configurations.

Thanks!

Last time I looked at this (with the idea of putting a front 40/20/40 seat in the back of a crewcab, to get the headrests) the big thick washer thingies are all welded there for all possible attachment points... you just need to drill the holes and thread the thingies and get all the right bolts and seat belt pieces and such.

For instance:

THESE are the thick thingies the bolts go into (these are a couple of the unused ones in the back of a crewcab... they got used in some of the special edition trucks with 4 captain's chairs.)

That is exACTly the kind of info I was looking for.
Thanks!
I need to get under my rig and poke around.
The stock bench is really wearing me out.
I'm sure I can make it work.

I swapped a 40/20/40 into an XL, no problem. Get 4 extra seat bolts from the dealer, & bolt it in. Lloyd
