How do I get the y-pipe on the turbo that that connectors to the intake manifolds off. I got the intercooler, tubes, and hoses off but can't figure out how to get the y-pipe off. I am going to clean the intercooler tonight and do the CCV mod. The inside of the tubes and intercooler are really soaked in oil. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I am putting in new tubes and boots at this time and need help.

Thanks guys. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif

Mike, the v-band clamp on the turbo has to come off, as well as all the little hoses and connectors. Loosen the clamps that hold it to the intake plenums, and pull that sucker off.

OK I can see that now that I sprayed some simple green on it. I hope I can get this all back together. I'm working in the parking lot of my condo. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif

Chances are your Y-pipe gaskets are shot and leaking. Replace them and you'll gain 2-3 lbs of boost.

A long pry bar. The joint has already been lubricated from the inside. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

If you are putting dieselsite manifold boots (hose connectors) back in place of the OEM boots, I recommend that you trim about 1/4" from their length. Otherwise, you may find it quite difficult to align the pipe with the compressor outlet to get the o-ring to seal.

Spray the parts down with hair spray as you put them back together. It serves as a lubricant at first and an adhesive later. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

You'll also need to trim or remove the insulation from the ends of the intercooler tubes.

Thanks for the replies guys. I got the boots replaced. I cleaned out the intercooler and it is drying. Tomorrow I will put it back in with the new boots and tubes. Sun I may try and find a fuel filter locally and will be ordering a new air filter next week. Also I will be ordering a turbo-master this week, though a buddy of mine said he could get me a screamin deal on a BHA(he just got a complete Big Hoss package with the PDA for his Maxipad installed for less than $2K AT Banks/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif) so I may see how much that is before I make my decision.

Again thanks for the help guys.
