I'm in the market for some wax for my truck and I've heard nothing but great things about these products. For those of you that have used them, are they worth the money? How about the new wax from Meguire's (NXT)?
Please give me your experiences with these products.........

I've used Zaino products quite a bit and have been very impressed. I started out using them on my 99 Cobra. Once I switched to Mother's Gold and another time I tried McGuiar's Gold. They both made my Cobra shine almost as well as Zaino. I doubt most people could tell the difference. I could just barely. However, both waxes' best shine only lasted a week or maybe two. They may bead water longer, but they loose their mirror finish fast. Zaino would easily FAR out last both.

I have not tried any of the newest stuff nor do I use Zaino on my truck. I keep my truck nice looking, but for me it's not necessary to keep a mirror like finish on my truck.

I have used zymol, Meguiars, Griots, and now a product Klassee. It is an Acrlic resin. It holds up real well(up to 6 months) as opposed to wax as little as 3 weeks depending on conditions. I think it looks as well as most of the high end waxes. I do sometimes "layer" Griots or Zymol over the Klasse when I want some extra pop. Dont get me wrong Zanio, Zymol and or NXT are great products and give a great shine and depth. My truck dosnt get inside much and I need something that will last in the elements. MY .02

I guess I should have clarified what I was looking for in a polish / wax. I am mainly intereste in protection, and protection that last the longest. I definitely want it to shine, but its a truck and its gray, so its not like its a red show car.
So, is Zaino worth the money for protection that lasts? Or is something else comparable? I've always used Meguire's products, but don't find they last long enough.

I would have to say that I am a satisfied user of Zaino. Let's face it, for a vehicle that never sees the inside of the garage, exposure to the elements I don't want to wax it any more often then I have to, cause, face it - it's a lot of work for a crew cab long box.

The water beads off for a good 6 to 7 months and looks great, whenever you wash the dirt off.

It's easy to apply and takes me less time then with a regular wax and applicator.

For me, it's worth it.

Just got another order in of Zaino products, they have worked on the UV protection as mentionedearlier, my Gray Stroke does not know what the inside of a garage looks like either.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif

It is a synthetic that goes on easy and polished even easier...for a big truck you won't get bursitius....LOL...he-he...really though...like many I've also tried the big names.....Zaino gets better as its layered over time and just flat out looks good. Their website states that there really is no clear cut definition about protection being measure by water bead so that's a tuff one to answer.

You'll have to go with your gut on this but I have a few pics up after a two day Zaino-thon and polished her up really good. Several months later you can still see the reflections from the coating.......

Right on there.

You ask if it's worth the $$. Definitely! I can't say its the best because I haven't tried everything. I have tried just about all the low end synthetics and carnuba and all of Mequires products over the past 10+ years.

Zaino is not really that pricey. It works very, very well. It's easy to apply and buff/remove, at least compared to carnuba and some of the other synthetics. When properly applied - yes, follow the rules and get advise from some users - it will surprise you.

However, to get the full benefit, plan on a "two day marathon" unless you are talking about a very new car. It will be worth it. It's worth doing right the first time. Clay bar the truck first. I'd recommend multiple coats of the swirl/scratch remover on just about any car. Then follow with at least 2 coats of the polish. You probably won't have a chance to do all this more than once. It really is worth it however. Do sections at a time if you don't have a full weekend to get it all completed.

Follow up single coats of the polish will be much easier and faster.

You say your paint is gray so not really a stand out color. I think you will appreciate the outcome regardless, and I promise it will keep your paint looking newer longer.

I usually put three coats of Zaino on my truck every Spring. It is very easy to apply. I hand wash the truck except during the Winter cold when I use the car wash. Last winter I injured my back and am unable to wash or wax the truck. Last year's Zaino treatment still shines and beads the rain. I wouldn't use anything else.

Yes, Zaino is worth the money. Dont even hesitate, just place your order. NOTHING out shines, out protects or lasts longer that I have tried, and I have tried everything I could get my hands on. Understand that Zaino is a product process, not just a wax. You start by washing your vehicle with a detergent (not a car wash with wax built-in) to remove all dirt, grime and old wax, then you need to clay bar the truck, and wash it again with the detergent (I use Ivory.) All of this just to get the truck "clean" then you start with a series of polish locks, wax, repeat. Now, its allot of work, expect to spend a full two days and put 4-5 coats on at least (it gets easier with every coat) but your jaw will drop /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif when you see the result after each haze coat is removed. Its lasts a long time, and all you will need to do is wash the truck with the Zaino wash and spritz down with their shine spray and the superior finish is there. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif Once you try it, I doubt you will use anything else if you like your paint looking show quality. Be sure to ask for their detailed show quality application instructions - I think they still give them out when you order and request it?

I have never used the Zaino products, but I am using the NXT line on my truck and could not be happier.... I put it on there in March and it still is beading water like it was the day after I put it on (and ask anyone in out club, I am a fanatic about my truck staying clean!)

I use their wax, speed detailer, car wash soap and have the booster wax (but haven't used it yet). My truck shines better than the day I got it!!

While the Zaino may be better (don't honestly know), the NXT works like a charm and is extremely easy to use. I mask off the black plastic parts before waxing and even including the masking process, it took less than 2 hours to wax my entire CC LWB DWR. Can't ask for much more than that!!
