I have a 1995 Ford F250 7.3 Powerstroke Automatic with the E4OD. I also have a 1988 F250 7.3 IDI with the manual ZF S5-42. I am looking to do a manual swap on my powerstroke, using the manual from my IDI. I know that the powerstrokes used the ZF S5-47s but im curious as to what all I need to adapt to make it fit. I plan on upgrading things like the clutch and flywheel on the 42 before I put it on my powerstroke, but I am unsure on weather I need to buy a Clutch kit for the 47 or for the 42. If anyone knows what this swap would intel please jump in!!

Early PSDs used the S5-42. I don't think the 47's were used until 97, so you should be good. A clutch/flywheel kit will be the same for both. Cheers!
