A while back my truck alternator went bad and as the batteries died out driving, my abs light come on and speedometer stopped working. I have checked all wires to and from the wheel sensors and rear hub sensor. Pulled all 3 sensors and cleaned. Nothing has worked.

If I replace the ABS Control Module with a unit from a salvage yard would it have to be programmed from Ford to work or would it be "plug and play" ? The part #'s match and the year make of the donor vehicle is the same.

Do something simple and free first. Remove ground cable from one batt and then go to the other battery and remove ground cable and touch to the positive post, it will not short or anything but it will drain capcitors in the control modules. Hold the ground to pos for 15 seconds and then hook up both grounds and see if the light goes off after you drive past 10-12 MPH.
Some control modules go offline and the capacitor in the circuit to stabilize voltage can keep it from powering down and resetting. I haven't known this to be a trick used on Ford's but your 05 has some CAN computer multiplexing. Other car makes with multiplexed CM's are often reset like this when goofy things occur.

I have a 05 f250 super duty with the 6.0 diesel an I was pulling a camper an the truck shutoff an the battery light came on asa the truck died. I have a code reader for the truck an it’s only throwing abs codes for the truck an not throwing anymore codes for my truck. What can I do to find out if anything else about it. It has fuel going to the engine an turning over.
