I just got this 88 f350 with a 7.3 the ignition has been hacked up pretty badly but it will start with starting fluid my question is should my injectors cycle when I turn my key on
Two things occur with the key on in your truck-the glow plugs heat if connected and the fuel shut off opens. The injectors are operated with fuel pressure from the injector pump only.
Check the glow plugs. With an ohmmeter, check from the plug tip to ground after it had been sitting overnight. The reading should be somewhere around .2 ohms. Less than that it is probably shorted, more than that it is either going open, or already open.
