My neighbor Has a 1990 F-250. He wants to Purchase a new set of springs. I was wonderings what the spring code was for the F-250's packaged to handle Snow Plows.

And any other Advice Is Welcomed! Thank you.

In the bottom right corner of the door tag there is a spring code ie 2D29 they refer to a part number of the installed springs. His local Ford dealer should be able to tell him what are available above that. I personally would use air bags on the front to carry the plow load at the normal ride height now, unless they have sagged really bad.

I have a 94 4x4 f250 that has front leaf springs, do these springs realy sag or is that the way they came? The ones on my truck have about 1 inch of travel before they hit the bumper. My springs will hit the bumper just running through a gutter. From what I have seen in catalogues the replacement springs look as if they arch up as one would think a worn one would look like, maybe they just came that way? My plan is to buy springs that will provide a 4" lift.

Our springs came negative arch from the factory......there was a recall way back but you had to complain during the warranty period. I think it was in 95 year trucks they changed the springs.

Yep, the old trucks had negative arch springs. The design had to do with which way the axle moves when you hit bumps etc...

With a plow you will need an add-a-leaf or air bags. The problem with the old Twin Traction Beam suspension is that the camber changes radically with the plow on or off with a plain spring suspension. With air bags you can keep the same suspension height, and therefore the same camber angle year round by pumping up the bags when the plow is on, and airing them down when it is not.

ON EDIT, the post doesn't specifically say that he is using the truck to plow, only that he is looking for plow spec springs. If he only needs to raise the truck and isn't plowing, an add-a-leaf kit is fine.

Yea Im sorry He is looking to Plow. I saw how badly neg- arched his springs where and suggested replaceing those 16 year old puupies.

I had the same probe land when I ordered the new springs oem. I still have the same issue. Should I put add leaf on possibly or go for some lift springs? The travel before the bump stops is just about an inch with the new OEM SPRINGS. same as the old ones
