2000 Hyundai Accent cylinder numbering ??

This is an odd question. I had to pull the head on a 2000 Hyundai accent 1.5L SOHC 12valve, cause it burnt the exhaust valves.

Didn't worry too much about the plug wires and such as I figured the firing order and such info would be readily available. When I went to AZone on-line I came up with the following picture. Isn't #1 cylinder where the crankshaft pulley, and the timing belt is? The picture seems backwards to me as the pulley is on the OPPOSITE side as the picture looking at the engine from the front (P/S). Am I wrong or did Hyundai do things backwards from the rest of the world? The small numbers are the coil packs and they are mounted on the D/S of the head.

GOT IT.

I paid a visit to an old friend that works in a garage with AllData. YUP the picture above is backwards, 1-4 left to right from front of vehicle. Coil packs are 2,3,4,1 front to back. AZone is going downhill since AllData quit them.

In 2000 Hyundai Accent with a rear break Cylinder leak. I priced the brake cylinder at Advance Auto Parts for $20. Has anyone installed one?

Any Suggestions?
I have installed many brake cylinders in many cars over the years. Best thing is to figure on new brake shoes if they have ANY brake fluid stains and also the drum if it has had fluid imbedded. You an probably get away with bleeding just that wheel when your done as long as you keep the Master cylinder full.

Chuck, I've found even the genuine dealership shop manuals aren't 100% mistake-free 100% of the time. I've found about 3 errors in my '91 manual, one that comes to mind is the shutdown solenoid wire and the cold timing advance wires are both switched with each other (color code and placement) in the manual versus how they actually are.

Yeah. Sad but it used to be that AZone repair section was powered by alldata. Now that there is another service, lots of info isn't even available. My years of wrenching told me that the numbering had to be wrong. and the coil packs were NOT marked in any way. turns out it didn't matter anyway. 150+ on each cylinder but still failed as a gross polluter. threw a code for catylast efficiency that it didn't throw before repairs. Hope your shoulder is better

Negative on that one, my friend, so far anyway. I was going to post a pic of the stapled up horrid mess but you can't paste copied Photoshop/Zoombrowzer pics here on TDS. Plus the only decent sympathy I'm getting is from my giant yellow cat.
Actually there's a pic of my right one (2002) on page 2 of my Webshots, this left one looks just as bad.
