04 PSD, 233K miles. Intermittent problem with engine surging momentarily, then runs bad for 10-15 sec, then runs great. No codes showed until today. Getting code 2287 for injector control pressure sensor intermittent signal. Question(s) - Just replace the sensor? or does the regulator need to be replaced as well? Any thing else I need to check? Is there a way to verify that it is the sensor and not the regulator? On my truck, I believe the sensor is on the back of the engine on the drivers side by the back of the rocker cover, correct? ANY input on this is VERY MUCH appreciated. Truck is down, and it is my daily driver. THANKS!!!

Sounds like an issue w/ the sensor or the wiring (or both), run w/ it disconnected to see if the surging goes away.

If it is an early 04, then it is behind, sort of below the turbo.

Late 04 and it is on the passenger valve cover.

Yep, Right on the money Bismic. Was the ICP sensor. took 10 min to replace sensor. Easiest fix I have had so far on the truck. This also relates to an earlier thread I had about changing injectors, possibly the FICM to correct a surging problem I was experiencing. Truck runs great now. I am still going to replace all of the injectors though, since the engine has 233k on it. All of the replies I have received on my threads have helped me big time. REALLY APPRECIATED!!!THANKS!!!!
