6.7L Reliability

Hello all,

I'm still doing a lot of research (probably too much) on diesel trucks as I plan to buy or order one soon. My initial thought process was that the diesel engine should last sever hundred-thousand miles; however, the more I read the more I question this.

On this Forum and the powerstroke forum I see that early 6.7L seemed to have some issues, the HPFP issue seems to have hit a few people, and the exhaust valve issue on the 2011 6.7's.

I know Ford has a modified design for the 2015 6.7, have most the other issues been fixed? I believe they have since I don't see a lot of those issues for newer built trucks.

Also, I know that the reliability is better than appears on forums as this is one place folks go for help when they are having issues. Can people chime in if they are getting over 100K miles on their rigs?

Thanks

Jeff

Thanks for the info.

As I said, i think I am looking into this too much as I think I get more and more worried the more I read, nit just about the power stroke but all the trucks...lol.

I think it will take me a while to hit the 100K power train warranty so I think I am going to stick with my original decision and stay with the Ford!

Hopefully I'll be putting one on order in another week or so.
