Now that they have been out long enough for some good run time. What is everyones consensus of it? I'm tossing around the idea of big oil and have made my mind up on the adrenaline...mainly because its in my price range.

Will this be a good upgrade for the truck in my sig? I dont have any plans for bigger injectors or turbo in the near future...if anything I'd send my TS chip to Tony W. for a reburn.

Is it a direct replacement for the factory HPOP, unbolt old one, bolt new one on type thing?

Thanks

i'm in the same boat indy, from whaty ive heard it is a direct replacement.. and is good for around 50 horses with a stick truck.. when chipped and with 'big oil' tunes who knows??.. i think you can run it with a chip before big oil tunes but will not get the full effect of the upgrade??.. lets hear it guys..

had one.. notice i said "had", yes it is a direct replacment but i personally didnt see any advantages over my stock pump... i changed up and went with the stealth pump. thats a real HPOP! i hear its good for stock up to A/C hightorque's but no good for hybrids like they claim... personally not impressed....

I'm new to HPOP upgrades. How am I to know if my factory pump is adequate enough for what I need? I dont know much about aftermarket HPOP's, I'm wanting to learn as much as I can on this subject.

Thanks

Do a search. This subject has been covered many times. In a nutshell. I got one and love it. It'll show inprovements from stock to modified injectors. I don't plan on getting any wild injectors just something for milage and power. This pump will more then handle it. Call Bob at the dieselsite. He is more then willing to tell you more then you would ever need to know about the pump.

... soo an aftermarket HPOP just gives more pressure to the injectors, but doesnt give it more power?? im confused.... i have read a bit and from what i remember of a website is that it stayes it will give up to and extar 50 hp with a stock truck??... maybe i just didnt read it right..

The ipr regulates the psi the pump puts out. The adrenaline supplies more volume at the same psi. The inj work more efficiently

What are the different circumstances that some claim "its like a heart transplant" for they're truck, while others claim no gain at all? Not understanding how there can be such a major difference in opinion. Is it due to different set-ups and so forth, or are the they're pumps not wore out enough to notice the gains from the adrenaline? Also, back to my other question, how is one to know if the factory HPOP is performing at its full potential?

Thanks

IMO mainly from worn out pumps with stock split shot Injs. Get a scan tool and check your HPOP pressures and ICP %..test on different chip settings should hold 3000 psi+-

I know on my truck I felt the differance and on my scanner auto enginuity you could see the hpo oil psi was steadier under load or high rpm load.

If you need a new pump, I did then get the adrenaline. If you don't then it's like any other mod. You have to weigh all the opinions and decide for yourself.

My HPOP is fine to my knowledge. Just thought it would be a good upgrade. Gonna be put on hold now. Started tearing my front end apart to change ball joints and noticed my rotors are chewed up and calipers have been sticking. Pads wore all uneven and what not. Yea!!!

If you're running tunes equivalent to DP Tuner's 80econo or higher, and keep your foot down from the freeway entrance till you hit 120mph..... you'll either notice that there's no power difference above 3000rpm (motor falls flat on it's face above 3000) and or set a P1211 code (high pressure oil pump pressure out of range).... or red and blue lights in your rear view mirror. LOL

I'm still on the stock pump. Sometime this year going to throw in an adrenaline pump. I get a lot of P1211 codes, especially on the 140hp tune. I got an OBD2 code reader in my glovebox for turning the check engine light off!

I've run my truck over the weigh scales at the local dump. Put that weight into the dynolicious app for the iphone.... on 80econo shows 328hp peak, on 140aggressive tune shows 348hp peak. 8.8sec 0-60mph. It's a crew cab 4x4 so it's heavy. Unfortunately dynolicious doesn't show torque output - that'd be interesting.

In any case, the highest tune I have would probably benefit a lot from a better pump.

For one, that is a pretty sweet app. My boss has a iphone, that thing blows my mind. For two, my highest setting is 140, but I doubt it is as hot as DP. I've never ran it much on that setting, so I don't know if it throws codes or not. But it does lose power at higher RPMS, pulls good in lower RPM's, but gradually peter's out the higher the RPM's get.

As for Caryt's info. If I check it and the pressure fluctuates up and down. What is a minimum and maximum pressure the pump should push...just to get an idea to see if I might benefit from the adrenaline pump?

Try searching under "P1211" to see what comes up. Tons of people have seen that code with hot tunes or talk to Jody from DP to see what psi sets off the code.

If you have tunes ask your tuner what the max pressure he asks for..99% will ask for 3000 psi+- as additional doesn't make additional HP.
