I have a 2001 International 4700 flat bed tow truck with the 7.3 Powerstroke, I installed the Edge EZ module that plugs into the ICP to add some more power, it is set at the lowest setting now & made a noticeable improvement but I would like to adjust it to the highest setting which boasts 60hp & 100ft lbs of torque over stock.
This is my tow truck that I want to last a long time so I am concerned with it lasting & being dependable along with power to pull, is there any reason not to crank up the Edge, what exactly is the module doing to gain hp & is it more apt to overload something by boosting the hp this way?
I do have a boost & egt gauge & currently I cant force the egt over 1000.
My 2001 F550 is chipped & puts out 350 +hp, the international is rated at 210hp & is a real dog compared to the Ford, they both weigh in at 14,000lbs, I have no problem with power adders but am not familiar with how the ICP increases power, is it hard on the injectors, etc...? Thanks.
