Got an 02 7.3PS that when honking the horn the engine will die. At times it will also cut out going down the road. CPS and ICP have already been replaced.

Anyone have any ideas what's wrong?

Another thought. CPS has been replaced? When? OEM or aftermarket? A few years back I replaced a faulty OEM CPS with aftermarket. Afterwards when wipers ran in intermittent engine would cut-out while running down the road, and would die if idling. Replaced CPS with new OEM -- problem went away.

CPS was replaced after the problem was happening because that was our first suspission but didn't fix the issue. Every time you honk the horn it will kill the engine.

This happened on my 02 Excursion. It was something with the chip. But you say you have no mods yet. So it's not that.

gem module or column harness. on my 96 the gear shifter wore through a wire and it caused me problems.

I have the same build date on my F350. Had to replace the shifter due to worn wiring, easy to do. $57. Start there first, you may be surprised what you find.

I read another threrad on this forum where they replaced the CPS pigtail and fixed the problem. Also one fella said a DP tuner would do this as well. I'm having the same issue, and have an Edge Juice with attitude on my truck (I know I know). Anyone try the CPS connector? Hey Bill 1013, you are from my neck of the woods!
