After my last oil change my drain plug is leaking a bit. It is a copper type. What type, size would be a good replacement for the leaking copper?

TTBadDog,
Had the same thing happen to me once. There is a washer between the pan bolt and the pan (though I beleive it was brass) and forgot to reinstall the washer when I bolted everything up after an oil change. It started to leak. I went to the local hardware and purchased a rubber washer (OK'd for contact with oil) and installed. No leaks in over three years.
Hope this helps....,

Get a fumoto drain valve from dieselsite. You install it once and never have to loosen it again, just open the valve.

Get the Fumoto. I think it's brass, therefore no magnet . If you want a magnet, why not one on the filter, remove & re-install w ea filter change. Or get bypass filtration & no more worries.

If it continues to leak, you can get oversized drain plugs - 1 over, 2 over at Advance Auto Parts. I had to get 1 for my Fedex Ground truck (same motor 7.3L). I believe they are tapered too so you just get them started and they will recut threads as close to existing as they can be.

I picked up an assortment of copper washers, one of them should to the trick. Changing oil in the morning if I get the boat carb rebuilt in time.

Got mine from Autozone. They were able to look up the size. I got a couple of them for a few bucks.

Im probably just going to get a rubber washer or pick up a new bolt from autozone ( im sure they can look it up )....then ill have to go borrow my buddies pressure washer to clean my driveway :) :) :)
