My 2000 F250 Superduty 7.3 l has started whining when it is running. I suspect the power steering pump is on the way out. I have 177k+ miles on the truck. I'm looking for recommendations on which are good NEW pump brands, and which to stay away from.
I noticed Oreilly's has a PWR 60-6740PR pump with pully. Its not cheap, but would this be a good pump over a Ford OEM pump?
Would I be wise to change out the power steering lines while I'm at it? I plan on keeping this truck for quite a few more years, so I'm trying to stay on top of the maintenance.
I will also be changing out the serpentine belt while I'm at it.
TIA

I have one from autozone because Ford was on back order at the time.
it was great when i installed it and topped it off with power steering fluid. not as good now that I flushed the system with ATF, but still works.

one day I will convert to a saginaw pump.

typically Ford/ motorcraft would be the route to go

When mine gives me trouble, I will replace it with a MotorCraft and also replace all the hoses.

Psc steering makes a gm swap power steering pump for our truck, is a little pricey but would be a good upgrade over oem , I've heard it makes the steering smooth as butter
