elete the EGR

yes you can turn egr off in 900 and 4000 but have not found anyway in a ddec 6.. just turn off the egr output to no function

Hello guy's, I'm new here an am looking to help out my 06 515. I haul in Denver CO. in town all day long. My engine runs so hot, even in the cooler weather (215-225) If I buy one of the $129 plug in things fron ebay will this help? Also My fuel mileage is poor,4.5 at best.

waste of money.

Bought one of those things from ebay, $129, gone. Said it was supposed to make the engine think it was at 7500 above sea level. Put it on the computer at Detroit shop. On the computer the elavation was just juming around, from 5300, to 6900. All it was doing was wearing out the VVN and EGR faster.

DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

I was so wondering in Australia this engine is sending people broke.. Poor fuel, cracked heads,dropping valves, runnining hot 115c 120c degree.warning lights on dash egr valve failing , boost sensor..
We are trying to leave all the egr system attached and blocking off the exhaust into egr cooler, tricking the heat sensor in cross over pipe .try running clean air to boost performance and fuel.Engine should run cooler cause no exhaust flow through egr cooler.
HAS ANYBODY DONE SIMILAR MODIFICATION TO THIS ENGINE

Take a look at Home , they have an electronic device that puts the EGR system under control. It is not a EGR delete thing, it is awsome. I was going a bit crazy myself before I tried it, and it works great. No smoke, no code 39, no power drops, engine runs cool and big fuel savings. This website is very informative. Good Luck!

I don't know what those plugs actually do, but I ran into a webpage named Home and it helped me a lot. There is a lot of information regarding how EGR engines work, common EGR problems and best of all, they have an electronic box that gets rid of all this problems. I tried it and my truck is running like never before and my fuel mileage is unbelieveable. I suggest you read it.

I have a 2005 detroit 515 is it a ddec5 or a ddec 6? I would like to delete my egr if i could,Im sick of that cough! Help?

I had the same problem until I saw Home and learned how egr works. I was able then to understand why it fails so much and decided to try their electronic control module. The problem is gone eversince. Read it and decide if it applies to your problem.

Hi everyone. I am a new here and was wondering if anyone had experience with a re-manufactured EGR Cooler for S-60 detroit from BOSTECH(www.injectorwarehouse.com)?
Any input would be much appreciated since I'm considering it to purchase. The original EGR cooler that I had replaced in May of 2013 lasted me just barely a bit over one year.

yes i have all the egr parts left over,egr valve ,egr cooler,crossover pipe,turbo ,v pod,engine harness,delta p sensor,and oil press sender.also have the exhaust manifold but it is starting to crack.,i actualy deleted 5 units now 2 are for heavy haul applications [650 hp]and we turned them up too much as both have had cracked manifolds,but the other 3 [500 hp] are working perfectly with better power and mileage than before.as far as you doing it the mechanics are straight forward,but the program is custom made for mine .i can get one for yours but it does cost,and people seem to think its to much,so pm me if you want pricing

YES It works by blocking only the exhaust gases going through EGR cooler , The heat in transfer pipe to EGR valve will trick the sensor..We have dyno this vehicle 505 hp at 1850ftlb torque.No lost in power ,turbo boost running maxi pressure.This vehicle pulling refrigerate pan carrying 43 tonnes 3 legs Melbourne to Brisbane weekly approx 5322 km returning 49.2 km to 100km.Our vehicles are fitted with DDEC 6 .
