Hi everyone. I'm goin to change over my psd from automatic to a manual trans zf5. I"m just looking for some input as to how good these clutches are. I planned on the South Bend but while looking on Ebay I found Valair's for sale. They are a lot cheaper and "rated" the same as a south bend. Just wonder how good they are, or if I would just be paying a lot more for a name brand on the south bend.

In my experience, you are paying for the customer service. The price SBC charges for their clutches is reasonable to begin with IMO. Couple a fantastic product with unbeatable customer service and the price seems like a steal. For what its worth, dealing directly with SBC will often result in a better deal on a clutch.

South Bend is the clutch to have. Kind of like tires - you can go with an offbrand tire that is *rated* the same, but not *perform* the same.

SBC has the best customer service in the industry, and if you are honest about what you are donig with their clutch, and something happens, you will get taken care of.

But chances are, you really have to screw up to break one of their clutches.
