Im sure this has happened before. I have a TS chip in my truck, going to get it re-burnt by PHP and went to get my code and the ^&%$(@# stickers are gone.:icon_mad: Its a 2001 F250, 4x4, Crew Cab, Automatic. Does anybody know what the standard code is for an 01, without going to the stealership to have it pulled? I've found some posts saying any PMT or NVK code will work. Is this true...If so, what is the best code to use?

Thanks

If you know someone with an SCT or diablo tuner you can read the strategy off the ecu and the tuner should be able to convert it to a box code if needed. There can be issues if you flash the wrong code, including a no start, pats enabled problem that will require a tow to the dealer to reflash. There are multiple codes used in 2001, and the box codes are 4 digit, not 3 digits.

I would just call the dealers parts dept. They should be able to look it up by your vin #. You'll probably need this list to translate the number they give you to the pcm code: PCM Codes - 1994-1997 Power Stroke FAQ

Got a hold of the dealer. Numbers match to PMT series, but I dont know which one. This is my calibration code...1F719S0A, ECM part # 1C3F-12A650-ZD. Mine doesnt have anything after the "A", so I dont know if its a PMT0,1,2,or 3. Going from the ECM # it might be a PMT3 since is has the same ECM #. Is one of the codes better than the other?

PMT0 Cal-1F719S0A00 ECM# 1C3F-ZA

PMT1 Cal-1F719S0A05 ECM# 1C3F-ZB

PMT2 Cal-1F719S0A10 ECM# 1C3F-ZC

PMT3 Cal-1F719S0A11 ECM# 1C3F-ZD

Thanks

That matches up to the PMT3. 1c3f-zd

What are the characteristics of pmt3 vs the other codes?

Most of the time its just trivial stuff. I could never figure out why Ford would change so many things between codes, for the exact same engine. Things like transient fuel, IAC rates, startup air flow values, etc. All with very small changes. (at least on the gas side of things). the newest code for pmt3 is ckx0, but your tuner should know this too.
