I am installing a set of Hadley air horns and can't find the horn wire to hook into. I want to use my regular horn button along with a switch to turn off the air horns. I have crawled under the front of the truck and there is so much stuff packed around, in back, on the side of and below the grill that I can't even see the horns let alone find the #@%$#@$***# wires !!
All help is GREATLY appreciated...

I hooked up my air horn the way you want. The horn in between the fender and inner fender. If you look hard enough you can find wire and get color code. I then opened wire loom at firewall(over heater motor) and found wire. I tested it by pushing test light in wire and blowing horn. Ran new wire to switch, in cab, and then to horn. I can not tell you wire color w/o cutting tape and opening loom again. If you still can not get wire e-mail me and I will open loom and get color code.

What do these horns sound like as I think I would like to upgrade my horns as well. I have had a few people lately make me test my threshold ability to stop the Rig. Not fun but I am impressed with stock braking and know I want to also upgrade the brakes in my X.

Mine sounds like a fire truck, that is where it lived in its past life. The sound relates to how much air pressure you have. Some are adjustable for tone.

I got mine at www.campingworld.com. They are Hadley air hornes. The kit comes with a compressor. Nice kit, loud horns.

softwiz,
You want loud horns? Get Grover air horns. That's what I've got. Sounds like a 18 wheeler /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif!!! 130db and that's loud.
Better & cheaper then what they sell at Camping World. Hadley horns are over priced. The Hadley "Ambasssador" horns will set you back about $340. The Grover air horn kit #2591(better then the Ambassador)w/140# of air and dual brass horns for $289. Easy to install. Go to this link and check it out. www.ricksontruck.com

Better and Cheaper ?? Hadley Bully Dual Trumpet air horns with compressor, 124 decibels, $179.99 at camping world. I have had them on 3 different trucks, they are great for the money !!

Horsecamper, OldFlick got it very close. If you do a search there is a picture of the wire and where to find it, including color code. Information may be in the archives now and under the other general upgrade forums. Search air horns, or horns.

The easiest place to find the wire lume to the stock horns is under the passenger side battery tray, passenger side. Pull the tray and it is right there running down the fender and tucking into the hidden horns.

THANK YOU TO ALL !! Found the wires. I am going to finish the install this weekend. I made a bracket and placed the horns on the driver side fenderwell tucked in front of the tire behind the bumper tilting slightly down so water will drain. It should send most of the sound foreward for the best effect. I will take some pictures and post them after the first of the year.
Thanks again and HAPPY HOLIDAYS !! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
