You can put on a Ford Large Case 6G alternator on it. Get a standard alternator that fits on a 6.0L F450. They're rated for 140A IIRC as opposed to 110A. They fit after you grind the bottom of the bracket for clearance. Some guys have used washers under the mounts to increase clearance, but grinding out the bottom of the bracket is better as it doesn't change the serpentine belt geometry.

Unless you have a ton of electrical accessories on your truck, there's no need to go higher than 140A. If you put on a 200A you should upgrade the main wiring between the alternator and battery.

 

So I kept them burning up alternators my 6.0 So I bought these big ass tractor 200 alternator. I did put in a two gauge ground wire from alternator to battery. Will that suffice?
The reason I think my batteries were dying cause I have a big ass amp for my car Stereo stop professionally along with backup camera. Now that I think about that when I started problems.

 

Check out Mechman alternators. They have 3 sizes, 240, 320, and 370 amp versions. You will need to upgrade the cabeling to a larger size. Check out ceautoelectricsupply.com for upgrade cabling. I have a 240 amp version on my 2001 F350 7.2l and have not had any issues with it. I use it to charge the lithium batteries in my truck camper when traveling.
