2001 single alternator Super Cab F250 2WD with 206060 miles
I need a new alternator again. This one is a cheap Chinese product that has lasted about 3 years.
I now have the finances to buy better stuff. I'm replacing the batteries with AGMs, and I'd like to usea higher amp alternator but would like one that doesn't require any rewiring. I may put in an upgraded, heavier duty starter in the next year.
Any recommendations for 160 amps under $400?
Right now I'm looking at Quick Start alternators, and don't understand the purpose of multiple bridge rectifiers. Do they provide longer life, better performance, or redundancy? Quick Start offers a one, two, or three bridge rectifiers with 200 amp 6G.
Thanks for any advice.
