Hello all I'm new to this forum and decided to become a member due to low activity of my old forum. I've got a 2000 7.3 and I think my hpop is going out. my ICP has no oil on it (dry as a bone). I'm loosing mid range and high range power. I haven't experienced any hard starting to due a sick hpop yet. I plan to send my hpop off to joey for the *17 next week. here are a few read outs if you guys see anything that sticks out at ya. thanks for any info you guys
may have.

mods i have:
zf-6 tranny
straight pipe exhaust
Triple Gauges
Wicked Wheel
6.0 Intercooler
Dieselsite Boot kits
TS 6 posistion chip
VALAIR 500hp clutch replacement kit
napa big air filter mod
Kevlar throwout bearing
new input shaft bear kit
Extra condenser electric fan on Thermostat relay.

Your ICP and IPR duty cycle look right in the spot they should be at idle. 475 psi at 11.7% IPR duty cycle.
It doesn't tell the whole story though.

If you can make a hard acceleration run while recording ICP and IPR Duty Cycle, and get a snapshot of the graph for that, it would tell more.

Does it rattle when coming off the go-pedal or lag when you mash it? If so, it may indicate a sticky IPR, which is a lot cheaper fix than a new HPOP. It's pretty uncommon for an HPOP to go bad. More typically it's a IPR problem or leaking injector o-rings.

P.S. If you can get your scanner to speak english (psi instead of Mpa) it would be a lot easier for most of us to understand.

Most people measure their ICP sensor pressure in PSI - for the uninitiated - 3.28 Mpa is about 475 psi, and 3.46 Mpa is about 501 psi. Given that, assuming this is at idle, your ICP sensor data seems just a little low, but consistent with the low IPR duty cycle.

From the great author KLHansen, I have skimmed this information:

"A low ICP sensor reading in connection wth high IPR duty cycle indicates leaks in the HP oil system.

While cranking, monitor battery voltage, rpm, ICP, and IPR duty cycle. You should have a minimum of 8 volts, 100 rpm, 500 psi, and lower than 45% IPR duty cycle.

At idle, your ICP value should be around 500 and IPR duty cycle between 8-12%."

You seem to be within a hair of quoted normals.

EDIT - KLHansen did it to me AGAIN! Posted while I was still typing. I think he can read my mind...:scatter:

I would say it doesn't lag much just the first initial dump of black smoke and then it spools to 22lbs fairly quick. I don't get any rattles or weird noises when i let off the gas except an occasional gear roll over at low rpm. I don't now if its me but since this has started happening my injectors seem quieter than normal. I did a buzz test on the injectors yesterday and they buzz loud and clear and all have about the same buzz tone and pass the buss test on the computer. As soon as i get a change i'll bust out the ford scan tool and do a WOT screen shot, or rig up a fuel pressure gauge off the pump or fuel bowl.

notice you lived in AK. My mom lives on the Kenai River. Just got a text from her saying she was on the deck watching the reds come up river. BTW thanks for the info so far, I just hate to throw parts at this truck, cause we are talkin about real adult money when it comes to fixing these trucks. I originaly thought my problem might be bad o-rings. What is your hunch on bad o-rings, and I would say my lag is a bit more than it was when the truck was running right. Plus I've only had all those mods on my truck for 6 months and my problems started about 1 month after all my installs.

updated. Im pulling my 32ft camper (10,500lbs) and stopped to top off my tank and im getting 7.58mpg and i've had a 22mph head wind, but wouldn't think it would be that bad? it pulls fine on the straights but with the wind up hill im holding 20psi but i've noticed there is no difference in half throttle or full throttle what so ever. almost like its not getting enough fuel/volume? thanks for the info so far guys.
keep in mind my truck is on 50hp tow setting. with the truck on stock i can barley hold 60mph.... sad
